With offices in both Northern and Southern California, the firm provides comprehensive legal services in areas including, but not limited to, board governance, personnel matters, labor relations, workplace misconduct investigations, student matters, public finance, public works bidding, construction, business matters, real property, and litigation.Position: Attorney
Location: Tustin, California
Experience Required: Minimum of three years legal experience, ideally with a background in public agency representation.
Responsibilities:
Ideal candidates should have experience in three or more of these areas of responsibility.
- Provide legal counsel on education law, employment disputes, and governance matters including employee discipline, workplace investigations, and ADA accommodations.
- Advise clients on business operations, facilities management, real estate, and energy matters.
- Represent clients in all aspects of litigation, mediation, and arbitration in both federal and state courts, as well as administrative hearings. Trial experience preferred.
- Assist with collective bargaining and labor relations for school employees.
- Act as bond counsel for tax-exempt debt and other financing for capital projects.
- Handle special education law matters, including Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), Section 504 meetings, and compliance complaints.
- Address student-related legal issues such as First Amendment concerns, FERPA, student discipline, and conduct hearings.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree from accredited law school.
- Member in good standing of the California State Bar.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of California public agency and education laws a plus.
