We are growing and looking for attorneys with litigation experience to join our team in our Kansas City, MO office.DeVaughn James Injury Lawyers is the largest personal injury law firm in the state of Kansas, and we continue to experience rapid growth across our five office locations in Kansas and Missouri. Currently, our 36 attorneys join our team of over 130 people as we pursue our mission to aggressively fight for injured people in a professional manner.
We advocate for clients who have suffered injuries and need a dedicated, compassionate representative to stand up to large insurance companies. As a Litigation Attorney, your responsibilities will include managing active litigation files, appearing in court, drafting legal documents, conducting mediations, taking depositions, and serving as lead counsel at trial.
Active Kansas and Missouri bar licenses are required.
This is a full-time, in-person position. The firm provides full health and dental insurance coverage for the attorney, as well as fully paid long-term and short-term disability insurance. Paid time off includes 10 days starting on your hire date, increasing to 15 days on your first anniversary, and gaining an additional day each year until reaching 20 days at six years of employment. This is in addition to 8 paid holidays. After one year with the firm (and upon the plan entry date), you will be eligible to participate in the 401(k) plan, with the firm automatically contributing 3% of your salary toward your retirement.
The salary range is $100,000 - $200,000 per year, and will be discussed with the attorney depending on previous litigation and trial experience, qualifications, and earnings. All experience levels will be considered. Extensive litigation experience is required for the high end of the salary range. Performance/feedback meetings occur periodically during the first 6 months. There is also a bonus plan which begins when independently handling your own files.
