We are growing again! A Seasoned Trial Lawyer, a boutique law firm dedicated to providing top tier legal services to businesses, institutions, and individual clients across the United States, is seeking a civil and commercial litigation attorney (contract and remote) licensed in either Texas and/or California to join our legal team in an of counsel capacity. This position will have broad responsibility for providing litigation support.Responsibilities:
- Prepare for and conduct depositions
- Conduct legal research and gather evidence
- Draft pleadings, contracts, notices, letters and other legal documents
- Provide proper legal citation and statutory interpretation
- Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations
- Explain the law and give legal advice
- Facilitate innovative solutions to client problems
- Receive and respond to discovery requests and subpoenas, including gathering and reviewing documents
- Handle and manage appropriate calendaring of scheduling order and other deadlines
- Maintain accurate case files, notes, and reports
- Track and log legal invoices and expenditures
Qualifications:
- Must be licensed to practice law and be in good standing in Texas
- 1-5 years of civil litigation experience with law firm or in-house legal department
- Superb writer with ability to effectively and persuasively communicate
- Impeccable attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Initiative to problem solve and expand knowledge and areas of expertise with minimal supervision
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and set priorities with excellent follow up
- Strong fact-finding and research skills
