Position Overview/Role DescriptionGPMZ is seeking an insurance defense Litigation Attorney (1-3 years' experience) to join our growing litigation team.
The ideal candidate is motivated and confident, with a strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership of assignments. This role is best suited for those who seek hands-on litigation experience in a collaborative environment that promotes personal growth and professional development. GPMZ has a strong mentorship and training program for newer attorneys which provide the tools and opportunity to become well-rounded, capable attorneys who feel confident handling every aspect of a case.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in Texas or scheduled to sit for the upcoming Texas Bar Exam
- One (1) to three (3) years of litigation experience
- Strong analytical, legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills
- Strong organizational and case management skills with attention to deadlines and detail
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment
Litigation Strategy & Case Management
- Develop and Execute Litigation Strategies in Collaboration with Partners and Senior Attorneys
- Maintain Ownership of Deadlines, Court Settings, Discovery Obligations, and Client Reporting
- Draft Substantive Motions, Pleadings, Briefs, Discovery Requests and Responses, and Legal Correspondence
- Prepare for And Attend Hearings, Mediations, Arbitrations, and Other Litigation Proceedings
- Effectively Advocate for Clients in Both Written and Oral Presentations
- Manage All Aspects of Discovery, Including Written Discovery and Document Review
- Take and Defend Depositions of Parties, Witness, and Experts
- Analyze Case Evidence and Develop Strategic Approaches to Discovery and Litigation Positioning
- Appear in State and Federal Courts, Mediations, Arbitrations, and Administrative Proceedings
- Participate in Settlement Negotiations and Alternative Dispute Resolution Efforts
- Trial Preparation, Witness Preparation, and Courtroom Strategy as Needed
Work Closely with Litigation Team Members on Case Strategy and Client Service
