We are seeking a talented and experienced Litigation Attorney to join our growing practice. This position offers an exceptional opportunity for an attorney who enjoys sophisticated, hands-on litigation and wants meaningful responsibility across a diverse and dynamic caseload.The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, persuasive advocate, and accomplished legal writer who is comfortable taking ownership of matters and representing clients through all stages of litigation—from initial case assessment and pleadings through discovery, motion practice, negotiation, hearings, trial, and resolution.
Practice Areas:
Our litigation practice encompasses a broad range of matters, including:
- Business and commercial litigation
- Bankruptcy matters, including Chapter 11 proceedings
- Landlord–tenant and housing litigation
- Federal and New York employment litigation, including FLSA matters
- Workers' compensation proceedings
- Personal injury litigation
- Criminal defense
- Candidates are not required to have extensive experience in every practice area. We particularly value attorneys with strong litigation fundamentals, sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to master new and complex matters efficiently.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:
- Manage and strategically develop litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Draft sophisticated pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery demands, and other legal submissions
- Conduct legal research and develop effective litigation strategies
- Handle court appearances, conferences, hearings, depositions, negotiations, and, where appropriate, trials
- Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties
- Work closely with the firm's attorneys on significant and challenging matters while maintaining meaningful responsibility for assigned cases
Qualifications:
- Active admission to the New York Bar required
- Admission to the New Jersey Bar strongly preferred
- Meaningful litigation experience
- Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple matters effectively
- Professional judgment, attention to detail, initiative, and a strong sense of responsibility
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment
