Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join our litigation team. This role is ideal for a passionate advocate who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is confident in the courtroom, and committed to delivering top-tier legal representation for our personal injury clients. You will handle a full litigation caseload, with the support of a dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle and manage Personal Injury files from file through trial.
  • Work up litigation files from filing the lawsuit, writing discovery and depositions, and trying the case.
  • Willingness and ability to regularly interact with clients, adjusters, staff and other lawyers.
  • Successfully lead a litigation team of 5 plus people.
  • Litigate a case from beginning to end.
  • Have good work ethics and present strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work cohesively in a team environment.
  • Experience in supervising and managing other team members.
  • Pre-Litigation case management and negotiation experience.
  • Experience handling cases involving commercial motor vehicles.
  • Willing to expand knowledge of trucking litigation and obtain board certification in truck accident law.
  • Willing to work independently yet be accountable.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an ABA-accredited law school
  • Current member and in good standing of the Illinois Bar
  • Minimum of 3 years of Personal Injury litigation experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis
  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide effective solutions
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Trial experience preferred
  • Commercial case experience a plus
  • Experiencing litigating trucking and other commercial motor vehicle cases a plus
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus

Physical Requirements:
  • Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions.
  • Stationary Position – Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
  • Move or Traverse – This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery, etc. May occasionally ascends/descends the stairs to get to other floors, cafeteria and parking area.
  • Dexterity – constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine/printer.
  • Move, Transport, Position, Put, Install, Remove - Occasionally moves supplies weighing up to 10 pounds for various presentation and event needs.
  • Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information - The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Detect, Determine, Perceive, Identify, Recognize, Judge, Observe, Inspect, Estimate, Assess - The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
