Job Summary:The Litigation Attorney will be responsible for managing and overseeing a diverse range of legal projects that encompass both litigation and transactional matters. The role will involve providing expert legal guidance, conducting thorough research, drafting legal documents, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful completion of complex legal initiatives. The Litigation Attorney possesses exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and has a demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Litigation Chief and Transactional Chief on legal matters.
- Handle special legal projects encompassing both litigation and transactional matters, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis on complex legal issues related to assigned projects, both in the context of litigation and transactional matters.
- Prepare and draft a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, agreements, and other related materials required for the successful execution of the projects.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as Litigation Chief, Transactional Chief, associates, partners, and staff to understand project requirements, provide legal advice, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Represent the firm in court proceedings, including hearings, depositions, and trials, and handle all aspects of the litigation process, such as case strategy, discovery, and settlement negotiations for assigned projects.
- Attend public meetings as required and act as required to ensure compliance with applicable public sector laws, rules and regulations.
- Identify potential legal risks and provide proactive strategies and solutions to mitigate them, both in litigation and transactional matters.
- Stay abreast of changes in laws, regulations, and rules that may impact clients and provide recommendations accordingly.
- Coordinate and work closely with external officials, as required, to seek expert advice or support for specialized legal matters.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including research findings, project plans, status reports, and any other relevant records
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in the state bar association.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on complex legal projects encompassing both litigation and transactional matters.
- Strong background in litigation, including experience representing clients in court proceedings and managing all phases of the litigation process.
- In-depth knowledge and expertise in relevant legal areas related to and including litigation strategy, contract law, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and offer innovative solutions in both litigation and transactional matters.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts effectively to various stakeholders.
- Proven track record of managing and prioritizing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in legal research, document drafting, and reviewing.
- Proficiency in legal research tools, databases, and other technology solutions.
- High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding sensitive information.
