Job Overview:We are seeking a self-motivated attorney with 5-7 years personal injuri defense litigation experience. Our firm represents defendants in automobile, trucking and trip and fall cases.
Salary plus discetionary bonus
Responsibilities:
- Manage all phases of litigation, including case assessment, strategy development, discovery, motions, negotiations, depositions and trial preparation.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research utilizing tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies and stay current on relevant laws.
- Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, motions, settlement agreements, and discovery requests with precision and clarity.
- Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, mediations, and settlement negotiations to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Maintain an active diary
- Excellent communication skills are essential
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar membership in good standing in New York
- Proven experience in litigation practice with a strong understanding of courtroom procedures and legal protocols.
- Proficiency in legal research platforms including Westlaw and LexisNexis.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce clear, persuasive legal drafting tailored to various audiences.
- Strong negotiation skills to facilitate settlements that align with client goals.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases efficiently within a busy law office setting.
