A Preeminent Central Indiana Firm has an exciting opportunity for an attorney with 0-6 years experience interested in a litigation career and working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This position is primarily for litigation matters involving automobile tort claims, with future development into additionally handling complex product liability and warranty claims. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Review investigative and insurance claim file information, prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and correspondence
  • Attend hearings, trials, depositions, mediations, fire scene inspections and laboratory evidence exams throughout the state of Indiana
  • Frequent telephone and in-person interaction with client representatives, courts, opposing attorneys, insureds, lay witnesses, expert witnesses
  • Communicate with attorneys and insurance claim representatives to negotiate cases to resolution
  • Perform online research and prepare research memoranda as needed
  • Evaluate cases and exercise judgment to determine effective solutions, discuss potential solutions and recommendations with client representatives
  • Update electronic case management system with new file developments according to internal case management procedures
  • Oversee and work with paralegals and support staff
  • Manage multiple deadlines and due dates effectively
  • Other tasks as needed

Requirements:
  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Indiana
  • A desire to excel in a fast-paced litigation practice involving frequent court appearances that require in-state travel to any of the 92 counties throughout Indiana.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people
  • Ability to work independently, managing competing priorities and a fluid schedule
  • Ability to work well with a variety of personalities in a team environment
  • Comfortable using a variety of computer programs as tools to improve efficiency
  • Moot court or other litigation experience is preferred but not required
