Busy probate and estate administration firm seeks a contract litigation attorney who enjoys stepping into those moments when a dispute arises and litigate or help move the matter toward resolutionThe Opportunity:

You will primarily assist our team when matters require litigation strategy, motion practice, hearings, or trial preparation.
Types of Matters
Typical Assignments May Include:
- Contested probate proceedings
- Trust disputes and trustee issues
- Claims against estates
- Citation proceedings to recover assets
- Beneficiary disputes
- Motions, discovery, and court appearances in probate litigation
Most cases are already managed by our probate team, and you will step in to handle the litigation components.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate probate disputes and develop litigation strategy
- Draft motions, responses, and court filings
- Handle hearings and court appearances in Illinois probate courts
- Assist with discovery and depositions when required
- Advise the firm on litigation risk and resolution options
- Work collaboratively with our probate administration team
Qualifications:
- Licensed to practice law in Illinois
- Litigation experience (probate litigation preferred but not required)
- Courtroom experience and comfort arguing motions
- Strong legal writing skills
- Ability to work independently and step into cases efficiently
- Professional, practical, and solution-oriented mindset
Structure & Compensation
- Contract / Of Counsel / 1099 arrangement
- Flexible workload based on case needs
- Compensation based on hourly rate or project basis
