Ice Miller is seeking a mid-level Commercial Litigation Associate to join our Litigation Practice Group, preferably in our Baltimore office. Ideal candidates will have three (3) to six (6) years of experience, a strong interest in leading cases, managing teams, and contributing to strategic case development and execution.In this position, you will:
- Handle all aspects of complex litigation, including case assessment, pleadings, discovery strategy, motion practice, depositions, trial and/or oral advocacy.
- Manage business disputes in federal and state courts and before arbitration panels, including coordinating experts, overseeing large case dockets, and leading fact investigations (interviews and records review).
- Draft and develop litigation strategies, pleadings, briefs, and motions, and engage in strategic depositions and witness preparation.
- Supervise and mentor junior associates and paralegals, supporting their professional development and training.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, including general counsels, executives, boards, and other key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with partners on business development and client relationship management, including participating in pitches, contributing to presentations and proposals, and supporting ongoing client engagement, with a clear path for advancement and active encouragement to grow a practice.
Requirements:
- J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
- At least three (3) years of experience practicing law in a law firm
- Active law license in Maryland
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills and business judgement
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States
