Overview:The Long Island office of A Leading Litigation Law Firm, an AV-rated® firm designated one of the “Best Companies to Work For” among U.S. law firms by U.S. News & World Report, is seeking an associate attorney with a minimum of 4 years' experience in general liability insurance defense litigation including premises, NY Labor Law, and/or vertical transportation. The candidate would be joining a growing, dynamic firm with more than 200 attorneys nationwide.
This is a unique opportunity for a motivated attorney seeking to grow with an expanding practice. The successful candidate will be expected to handle all aspects of a case including conducting discovery, corresponding with clients and counsel, depositions, motion practice, oral argument, court conferences, mediations/settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in a wide range of insurance defense matters.
- Independently manage a litigation caseload, working cases from inception through resolution.
- Regularly handle court appearances and depositions.
- Communicate with clients and provide status reports.
Qualifications:
- JD from an ABA accredited Law School.
- Admitted in NY.
- A minimum of 4 years of insurance defense and general liability litigation experience.
- Outstanding research, writing and oral advocacy skills.
- Excellent academic credentials and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple matters simultaneously.
