Job Description:Phelps Dunbar is seeking a litigation associate for the Litigation Practice Group in its Dallas, Texas office. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of litigation experience, strong writing and research skills, and a demonstrated ability to handle substantive legal work in a collaborative team environment.
This role is well suited for an attorney who wants to continue developing as a litigator while working on meaningful commercial, financial services, banking, real estate, and other business litigation matters. The successful candidate should be comfortable drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, legal research memoranda, and client-facing work product with appropriate supervision and feedback.
We are looking for an associate who is responsive, organized, intellectually curious, and committed to high-quality legal work. The candidate should be able to manage deadlines, communicate clearly with team members, analyze facts and legal issues carefully, and contribute to practical litigation strategy. As the associate gains experience, the role will include opportunities to participate in hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation.

Experience in commercial, financial services, banking, real estate, bankruptcy-related, or other complex business litigation is preferred but not required
