Overview:Nelson Mullins is seeking a talented 2-3 year Associate Attorney to join our Houston office. This is an exceptional opportunity to work with a highly regarded team representing leading automobile, powersports, and boat manufacturers among others, in complex litigation, regulatory compliance, and dealership-related matters across the United States.
The Associate will work directly with experienced Partners and clients on a wide range of commercial litigation and regulatory matters involving manufacturer-dealer relationships, franchise and distribution issues, business disputes, compliance counseling, and strategic risk management. This role offers substantial client exposure, meaningful responsibility, and the opportunity to develop a nationally recognized practice.
A day in the life:
- Manage and support commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Conduct legal research, draft motions, pleadings, briefs, and client communications
- Assist with discovery, depositions, hearings, arbitrations, and trial preparation
- Advise land distributors and manufacturers on regulatory compliance matters
- Counsel clients regarding dealer and franchise relationships
- Collaborate with attorneys across multiple offices on sophisticated litigation and counseling matters
- Develop direct relationships with national clients
This position includes occasional travel to support client matters and team initiatives.
We Know You:
- 2-3 years of litigation experience in a law firm setting
- Commercial Litigation experience required
- Exposure to regulatory compliance, administrative law, dealership law, franchise law, or distribution law is a plus
- Excellent legal research, writing and analytical skills
- Strong oral advocacy and communication abilities
- A demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Licensed and in good standing in Texas.Nelson Mullins offers a competitive compensation package. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $195,000 to $205,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and geographic market considerations. Associates are also eligible for a comprehensive benefits package and may be eligible for performance-based bonus opportunities.
