Overview:Shah Law Group (SLG) is seeking a litigation associate to join its growing litigation team. Qualified candidates must have high-level research and writing skills, as the position will require preparing appellate briefs and dispositive motions. The ideal candidate will have an interest in shaping the law, as the Firm routinely takes on cutting-edge cases in the area of constitutional rights, catastrophic torts, and employment litigation. Candidates must have an interest in trying cases, including serving as second chair.
The Firm emphasizes the quality of written work product. We want attorneys dedicated to the craft of making creative arguments and thinking outside-the-box. The Firm is quickly becoming known in the State for its litigation practice, including obtaining historic verdicts and arguing matters of nationwide importance before the New Jersey Supreme Court and federal circuit court of appeals. Responsibilities (depending on experience level)
- Conduct legal research.
- Draft briefs, motions, and legal memoranda.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide sound legal advice.
- Negotiate settlements and represent clients in court proceedings.
- Propound and respond to written discovery
- Appear in both federal and state courts.
