The insurance defense firm of Downs Ward Bender Herzog & Kintigh, P.A. located in Hunt Valley, MD is seeking Litigation Associates with experience in either Medical Malpractice or Insurance Coverage Defense. MD Bar Admission required. D.C. Bar Admission preferred. Strong communication, writing and analytical skills needed. Excellent benefits. Salary commensurate with experience. Duties:
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis to support case preparation.
- Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Assist in the litigation process by preparing trial materials and exhibits.
- Collaborate with clients to gather information and provide updates on case progress.
- Attend court hearings and depositions as necessary to support senior attorneys.
- Analyze case law and statutes relevant to ongoing cases.
- Maintain organized case files and documentation for easy access by the legal team.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Proven experience in legal drafting and research is essential.
- Familiarity with medical malpractice or insurance coverage defense is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
