An Immigration Law Firm is in need of an associate attorney who is licensed in Colorado to help with court appearances with immigration court and family court for SIJ cases (adoption cases for abandoned youth from other countries).

The person applying for this position requires no prior experience, however, they must be licensed in the state of Colorado and willing to appear in court for the clients of Campos Law.

Campos Law focused on helping members of the Latino community with their immigration needs.

The firm works a lot of humanitarian and family based immigration cases in addition to representing clients in the asylum and deportation process.

Campos Law is immigrant owned and is looking for an attorney to help guide their clients through the challenging legal process of US immigration.

This is a full-time position and you will be the first full-time attorney to work with Campos Law other than the owner/founder Alejandra Campos.

We are looking for someone who wants to join a growing team of about 30 people and provide amazing customer service and legal representation to members of the Latino community in Colorado.

Once again, no experience is needed for this position.

Responsibilities:
  • Court Appearance: This position will require regular appearances in court. This is a crucial part of the job.
  • Client Representation: Represent clients in matters including divorce, child custody, adoption, domestic violence, and other related issues. A lot of the clients we work with are unsophisticated and will need hand-holding through the process.
  • Legal Research: Conduct legal research to analyze the facts of cases, interpret laws, precedents, and regulations relevant to family law matters.
  • Case Management: Manage a caseload of law cases, ensuring timely filing of documents, court appearances, and client communications.
  • Legal Documentation: Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, petitions, agreements, and court filings.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients to resolve disputes amicably whenever possible.
  • Court Representation: Represent clients in court hearings, trials, and mediation sessions, advocating for their interests and rights.
  • Client Counseling: Provide legal advice and guidance to clients regarding their rights, options, and legal strategies in family law matters.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal staff to effectively handle cases and provide comprehensive legal services to clients.
  • Continuing Education: Stay updated on changes in law statutes, regulations, and case law through continuing legal education and professional development.
  • Client Advocacy: Advocate for clients' interests and rights in all legal proceedings, ensuring their voices are heard and their objectives are pursued diligently.

Qualifications:
  • No prior experience needed other than being a licensed lawyer in the state of Colorado.
  • Fluent in Spanish.
  • Admission to the state bar and license to practice law in Colorado.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
