Job Summary:We are seeking a dedicated Lemon Law Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will specialize in consumer protection laws related to lemon vehicles and possess a comprehensive understanding of various legal disciplines. This role involves representing clients in lemon law disputes, providing expert legal advice, and managing complex litigation processes. The attorney will play a vital role in advocating for consumers' rights and ensuring compliance with relevant federal and state regulations.
Duties:
- Represent clients in lemon law cases, including negotiations and litigation proceedings
- Conduct thorough legal research utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools
- Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and client correspondence
- Advise clients on their rights under the Lemon Law and other applicable statutes
- Manage case files from inception through resolution, ensuring timely progression of each matter
- Collaborate with experts in areas such as environmental law, estate planning, or securities law when necessary for case development
- Engage in negotiation with manufacturers, dealerships, and insurance companies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients
- Stay current on developments in consumer protection laws and related legal fields such as personal injury law, workers' compensation law, and tribal law & regulations
- Maintain detailed records of case activities and ensure compliance with all legal administrative requirements
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with active bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction
- Proven experience practicing lemon law or consumer protection law preferred; experience in areas such as personal injury law, estate planning, environmental law, or family law is a plus
- Strong research skills with proficiency in Westlaw and LexisNexis platforms
- Excellent legal drafting and writing skills with attention to detail
- Demonstrated negotiation skills capable of resolving disputes efficiently and effectively
- Familiarity with litigation procedures and courtroom procedures
- Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining high-quality work standards
- Legal administrative experience is advantageous but not required
