As An International Fuel Distributor and Retailer rapidly grows throughout the United States, we have an immediate need for a corporate attorney to join our expanding team in the Houston office. This is a unique opportunity to work in a transactional intensive environment and support a broad range of commercial transactions and litigation matters across the United States. The successful candidate must enjoy working collaboratively in teams, have excellent judgment and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing responsibilities while offering guidance on a wide variety of legal issues. Location: Houston, TX, Denver, CO, Salt Lake City, UT

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review and advise on legal issues, contracts and transactions in support of business objectives, including those related to retail and commercial operations, real estate leasing, procurement, gasoline, diesel, lubricant, and other commodity supply and distribution contracts;
  • Advise and support all phases of An International Fuel Distributor and Retailer litigation portfolio (contract disputes, injuries, worker's compensation, employment issues, car accidents);
  • Work with internal clients directly to provide guidance and support for investments and large complex transactions, including drafting and negotiation of confidentiality agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and other ancillary documents in mergers and acquisitions;
  • Provide legal support and advise on a variety of day-to-day operational issues in all areas of the business.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • 3-5 year's corporate law experience in a well-regarded law firm or an in-house role, litigation experience a plus;
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school;
  • Must be a Lawyer and an active member of the bar in Texas, or eligible for immediate membership to the Texas Bar;
  • Experience in Employment Law, Oil & Gas and Contracts;
  • Team player adept at developing collaborative relationships across the organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills;
  • Bilingual – English and Spanish would be an asset;
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-up;
  • Ability to work under pressure, resolve problems and make decisions quickly and effectively, using a strong sense of self confidence;
  • Adaptability: Project management skills including the ability to work on various projects and prioritize accordingly in a fast-paced and dynamic environment;
  • Initiative: Independent assessment and evaluation of various issues and deficiencies and ability to find effective solutions using creativity, resourcefulness and expertise;
