Schneider Electric has a hybrid (2 - 3 days a week on site) opportunity for a Legal Counsel in the following hub locations: Boston, Foxboro or Andover, MA; Raleigh, NC; Westmont, IL.

In this role, you will provide legal guidance and support related to procurement and purchasing activities within the organization. Your responsibilities will include negotiating contracts with suppliers and managing legal risks associated with purchasing processes. You will operate as a business partner to purchasing stakeholders, supporting routine to moderately complex procurement transactions and help manage legal risk. The Legal Counsel is expected to exercise sound legal judgment, escalate novel or high‑risk issues appropriately, and continuously develop expertise in Schneider Electric's contracting standards, risk frameworks, and purchasing processes.

What You'll Do:
  • Draft, review, advise on, and negotiate supply, service, and purchasing agreements in alignment with Schneider Electric contracting rules and policies
  • Partner closely with Purchasing and internal stakeholders to support supplier negotiations and contracting decisions
  • Identify and assess legal risks, advising on mitigation strategies and appropriate escalation
  • Stay current on laws and regulations relevant to procurement, supply chain, and technology contracting
  • Provide preliminary guidance on supplier disputes or claims, escalating higher‑risk matters as needed
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of standard templates, clause libraries, and contracting best practices
  • Support internal training initiatives related to purchasing contracts, compliance, and contracting processes
  • Assist with other commercial transactions as needed, including customer and distributor agreements across Schneider Electric's energy management and industrial automation businesses

For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $101,600 - $152,400 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited U.S. law school
  • Active Bar admission in at least one U.S. state
  • 2–5 years of experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, ideally in a global organization
  • Prior in‑house experience is preferred; law firm experience welcome
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship‑management skills
  • Solid business acumen with the ability to translate legal advice into practical guidance
  • Collaborative mindset, sound judgment, and comfort operating in a fast‑paced, multicultural environment
