Position Summary:
As Legal Counsel, Digital and Technology Services, you will provide key legal support for digital products and services. You will be responsible for providing timely and strategic legal counsel to internal business partners with respect to Federal and state healthcare laws and regulations. You will proactively advise business partners on a wide variety of matters and work collaboratively with other attorneys and partners to support digital product teams through all phases of the product development lifecycle.

You will draft and negotiate relevant agreements; review and edit copy for internal and external communications about digital products and services; proactively identify business and legal risks; and provide solutions to balance risks with business objectives. Your expertise in healthcare, digital technology, and data use will allow you to understand and support the business and operational goals of internal clients.

As part of the CVS Health Legal team, you will gain experience working in a sophisticated and dynamic in-house legal department advising innovative consumer offerings.

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of legal experience with a law firm, healthcare, digital technology company focused on issues related to healthcare regulatory law in a sophisticated or complex environment.
  • Experience supporting businesses with mobile apps and online platforms providing multiple and/or regulated services.
  • Subject matter expertise of healthcare laws and regulations, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, the Stark law, the False Claims Act, HIPAA, state consumer privacy laws, and interoperability regulations.
  • Ability to synthesize and apply multiple regulatory frameworks to business activities.
  • Analytical skills and strong legal project management and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively effectively and work as a team player.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, initiative, and drive.
  • Admitted to practice law in at least one state and member in good standing of applicable state bar association(s)
  • Must be willing to travel when required (up to 10%).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • An understanding of the broader healthcare industry, including health plan and provider types and structures, PBMs, telehealth delivery modalities, wellness programs, etc.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating services, hosting, and/or licensing agreements.
  • Experience with issues related to FDA regulation of software.

Education:
Juris Doctorate and license in good standing to practice in at least one state.

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$144,200.00 - $288,400.00
