Description:

The Law Offices of Rod Firoozye, a family-law practice with approximately 30 years of litigation experience, seeks an associate attorney to join our firm. This position offers substantive case responsibility and the opportunity to work directly with an experienced Certified Family Law Specialist.

Work Arrangement
This position offers the flexibility to work from home, with required in-person court appearances in Santa Clara County and other courts where assigned matters are pending, as well as occasional meetings at our San Jose office near Santana Row. Candidates should reside within practical driving distance of Santa Clara County.

Qualifications:

Active California State Bar membership in good standing.
At least two years of litigation experience; California family-law experience strongly preferred.
Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
Ability to manage deadlines, communicate effectively with clients, and exercise sound professional judgment.
Strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with a small team.
Interest in developing long-term expertise and increasing responsibility in family-law litigation.

Responsibilities:

Manage assigned family-law matters, with supervision appropriate to experience.
Draft pleadings, motions, declarations, discovery, settlement agreements, and client correspondence.
Conduct legal research and develop case strategy.
Prepare for and attend hearings, settlement conferences, depositions, and trials.
Advise clients and provide timely updates regarding case developments.
Coordinate with attorneys, support staff, and experts.
Maintain accurate time records, organized files, and compliance with court deadlines and professional obligations.

Compensation and Schedule

Annual base salary of $140,000–$150,000, depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
Opportunity for discretionary performance bonuses.
Full-time availability during regular business hours, with additional availability as reasonably required for hearings, trials, and deadlines.
Remote-work flexibility with the in-person requirements described above.
