Job Summary:
A National Law Firm's Tallahassee office is seeking a lateral associate for its special district practice group. These special districts constitute local units of special purpose government, creating the unique opportunity to practice in many areas of local government law, including such areas as public finance, contracts, public records, and governing board counsel, all in a private practice setting.

  • Ability to competently and professionally communicate with clients and supervising attorneys
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and tasks simultaneously and to complete tasks efficiently, effectively, and in a timely manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to learn new substantive legal topics and factual subject matters as needed based on the nature of a matter
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational and matter management skills
  • Ability to work professionally and collaboratively with partners, associates, and support staff
  • Ability to work effectively with large working groups as part of a transaction team

Qualifications: Education & Experience
  • Law Degree (Juris Doctor) from an ABA accredited law school
  • Admitted to the Florida Bar Association
  • Experience in drafting and negotiating a wide variety of transaction documentation
  • Interest in government law and transactional practice
  • Ability, and willingness, to travel
