Summary/Objective:
The Litigation Attorney is responsible for duties and responsibilities within as delegated by the Managing Attorney or Managing Partner. Said duties and responsibilities are dynamic in nature and are subject to change as the firm grows and as the landscape of the firm's practice changes. Attorney is to provide his/her knowledge and experience of Business Disputes and/or Commercial Litigation matters. This role is also to ensure that all appropriate actions are taken to expedite the firm's files in accordance with all applicable law and contractual provisions of client agreements to achieve the reputational and financial goals of the firm.

Essential Functions.
  • Responsible for handling the firm's litigation files in the appropriate forum.
  • Responsible for outlining or overseeing appropriate actions to be taken, including creation of legal strategy and budget for assigned cases.
  • Responsible for ensuring action plan for assigned cases are implemented and completed.
  • Draft, review and sign various pleadings and other court filings, and render legal advice and assistance to all firm legal support staff as needed.
  • Become proficient at working within the firm's case management system.
  • Act as a liaison between the firm and its clients, vendors, opposing counsel, and courts.
  • Manage all files in accordance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, bar rules, and firm-established and client-established timelines, policies, rules, goals and objectives.

Supervisory Responsibility:
Responsible for overseeing actions of the paralegals assigned to assist the Attorney or those under his/her supervision. ?

Work Environment:
This job operates in a fast-paced office and courtroom setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Required Education and Experience:
  • Juris Doctor degree.
  • Member of State Bar in good standing in jurisdiction(s) in which firm designates Attorney to practice.
  • Admission into all state and/or federal courts in which firm designate Attorney to practice.
  • 5+ years as attorney in area of business disputes or commercial litigation law.
