We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Landlord & Tenant Attorney to join our legal team. In this role, you will provide expert legal counsel on a wide range of issues related to residential and commercial leasing, landlord-tenant disputes, and property management. Your expertise will help clients navigate complex legal landscapes, resolve conflicts efficiently, and ensure compliance with applicable laws. Duties:
- Draft, review, and negotiate lease agreements, lease amendments, and other real estate contracts to protect client interests.
- Represent clients in disputes related to eviction proceedings, security deposits, habitability issues, and lease violations.
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to stay current on landlord-tenant laws and regulations across jurisdictions.
- Advise clients on compliance with local, state, and federal regulations concerning property management, fair housing laws, and tenant rights.
- Manage litigation processes including filing pleadings, preparing case strategies, and representing clients in court hearings or mediations.
- Collaborate with property managers, landlords, tenants, and other stakeholders to negotiate settlements and resolve conflicts amicably.
- Stay informed about related areas such as estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, immigration law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, patent law, and legal administrative procedures to provide comprehensive legal support.
Skills:
- Exceptional legal research skills utilizing LexisNexis and Westlaw platforms to gather pertinent case law and statutory information.
- Strong negotiation abilities to facilitate favorable agreements between landlords and tenants.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting clear legal documents including pleadings, contracts, and correspondence.
- Proven litigation experience managing all phases of dispute resolution in landlord-tenant cases.
- Deep understanding of landlord-tenant law along with related legal fields such as estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, tribal regulations, immigration law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, patent law.
- Legal drafting expertise combined with meticulous attention to detail in reviewing lease documents and legal filings.
