The ideal candidate will have:
- Juris Doctorate (JD) Degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- At least 3 years of experience with land use law, which could include:
- Appearance at public hearings
- Administrative proceedings
- General litigation including briefing and oral advocacy
- Research and review of development feasibility
- Appellate briefing and litigation
- Analyzing administrative codes and regulations
- Drafting land use applications
- Practice experience in real estate and/or environmental law, administrative law, or litigation matters is a plus.
- Excellent academic credentials and professional references, as well as solid research, analysis, writing, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ownership of projects and willingness to work in a team-oriented setting, but with significant independence.
- Strong client service ethics.
- Strong communication, self-initiative, and time management skills
- Interest in business development in the land use real estate/construction and/or natural resources industry
- Oregon State Bar admission or eligibility for immediate reciprocity (required).
- This preferred location for this position is Portland, but consideration could be given to candidates in Bend, Oregon.
