We are seeking a mid-level associate to join the Labor, Employment, and Workplace Safety (LEWS) practice in our dynamic Dallas office. The position involves advising, counseling, litigating, and investigating employment and labor issues, as well as drafting and reviewing employment policies and employment-related documents (such as offer letters, employment agreements, restrictive covenant agreements, employment policies, and separation agreements). The position also involves support with diligence for the employment aspects of business mergers and acquisitions. The ideal candidate will between 3 and 5 years of experience working on a range of employment issues, including single plaintiff, class action, and restrictive covenant litigation, employment law advice, and reviewing and drafting employment policies and agreements. The ideal candidate will have experience litigating in state and federal courts, litigating in arbitration, and working with claims before the EEOC, Department of Labor, and related state agencies, as well as some experience with respect to the employment aspects of business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions. Prior experience with traditional labor relations is a plus but not required. Strong academic credentials and excellent written and oral communication skills are prerequisites.
Candidates will work closely with experienced lawyers who will provide active mentoring and opportunities to assume increasing levels of responsibility and client contact. Candidates must be self-starters who possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
