Description:

Cline and Associates, a Seattle-area labor and employment law firm, seeks an experienced civil litigator or labor lawyer to advocate on behalf of public sector labor unions and employees. Preferred qualifications include 3-7 years of traditional labor law experience, working with or without partner oversight on litigation of unfair labor practice charges or grievances in labor arbitration, advising on labor law matters, researching labor law issues, or participating in or advising on collective bargaining. Other areas of expected experience: case law research, brief and motion drafting. Employment law background and basic familiarity a plus (but not required). Applicants with different yet comparable civil litigation experience will be considered.

As a key member of the firm, you must be willing and able to work at both the strategic level and at the day-to-day tactical level in an innovative and independent environment. While this position has staff support, you must also be willing to “roll up your sleeves” and deal with workload in a collaborative and results oriented fashion. Candidates must have strong analytical, negotiation, and drafting skills as well as be capable of distilling complex issues/statutes in concise client communications. The Labor and Employment Attorney must be comfortable and proficient in negotiating contracts as well as litigating on behalf of our clients.
