Caplin & Drysdale is seeking a first- or second-year tax associate to join our International Tax and Business, Investment, & Transactional Tax practice groups. Applicants can choose either our Washington, DC or New York office, starting in the Summer or Fall of 2026. Applicants should have a demonstrated interest in international tax, transfer pricing, partnership tax and/or transactional tax issues, intellectual curiosity, and practical problem-solving instincts.Candidates will collaborate with Members of the group on a wide range of substantive international and business tax and transfer pricing matters. Projects generally will include planning and advisory work for public corporations, privately held business, individual, and foreign sovereign clients with respect to cross-border business transactions and investments, transfer pricing, and APA/MAP work. The Associate also may gain exposure to pre-immigration or expatriation planning and cross-border compliance matters, treaty interpretation, purely domestic transactions, and technical tax support on controversy matters. All applicants must have strong academic credentials, excellent written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work as a team player. Prior relevant legal work experience and/or an LL.M. in Taxation are preferred and will receive additional consideration.
