The Role:
This role will sit in our Los Angeles office.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Manage and prosecute domestic and international trademark applications, including conducting clearance searches, preparing and filing applications, and responding to office actions.
  • Manage and prosecute domestic copyright applications, including preparing and filing applications, and responding to office actions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of IP-related agreements, such as licensing, assignment, confidentiality, technology transfer agreements, and other commercial agreements.
  • Advise clients on IP strategy, portfolio management, and risk assessment.
  • Represent clients in trademark opposition, cancellation, and infringement proceedings before administrative bodies and courts.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, pleadings, and other litigation documents related to IP disputes.
  • Assist in the enforcement of IP rights and defense against infringement claims.

Key Skills and Experience
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IP law, with a focus on trademark prosecution, IP transactions, and litigation.
  • Strong analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience in a law firm or in-house legal department is preferred.

For California, the expected salary range for this position is between $260,000 and $295,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
