Responsibilities and practice:
Dentons US LLP is seeking a junior associate to join our nationally recognized Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice. Candidates should have 2-3 years of complex and sophisticated commercial litigation experience, strong academic credentials, and proven analytic ability, along with extensive experience handling high-level legal matters, including exposure to insurance litigation.
Our associates work collaboratively with our partners and clients, and are key members of our team. Expected responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Working on all aspects of commercial litigation from inception through trials and appeals
- Conducting legal research and writing memoranda
- Drafting complex case analyses and preparing briefs, pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents
- Conducting, propounding, and responding to discovery (documents, written discovery, depositions)
- Working with clients, witnesses, experts and other counsel

Pursuant to California law, the salary range for this position will be $235,000 to $260,000 based on experience and location. Based on years of experience, Dentons associates may have a title of Associate, Managing Associate, or Senior Managing Associate. Position Requirements:

- Exceptional writing and analytical skills, with the ability to effectively communicate research and analysis through meaningful written work product
- Demonstrates an ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, as well as adversaries and courts

Technical skills:
- 2-3 years of complex and sophisticated commercial litigation experience is required
- Strong writing, case management, and oral advocacy skills, along with level-appropriate experience handling clients and opposing counsel, are required
- Deposition and court experience is preferred
- Previous law firm experience is strongly preferred
- Genuine interest in insurance litigation is required
Other Requirements:
- Must be licensed to practice law and be in good standing in the State of California
- Submission of a cover letter, resume, law school transcript, and writing sample
