Job Summary:We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Insurance Defense Attorney to join our legal team. In this role, you will represent insurance carriers and policyholders in defending against a wide range of claims, including personal injury, property damage, and complex litigation matters. Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of insurance defense matters, including personal injury cases, property claims, and contractual disputes.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis to support case strategies.
- Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and discovery requests.
- Develop strong negotiation skills to achieve favorable settlements while representing clients' interests.
- Prepare for and participate in depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial proceedings with confidence and professionalism.
- Maintain meticulous case files and utilize legal case management systems to track case progress and deadlines.
- Stay current on relevant laws and regulations across areas such as general & commercial litigation, workers' compensation law, employment law, environmental law, tribal law & regulations, and statutory legal research.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in Georgia.
- Proven experience in insurance defense or related litigation fields with a strong understanding of procedural law. Salary dependent on experience.
- Proficiency with legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis is essential.
- Excellent negotiation skills combined with the ability to analyze complex legal issues critically.
- Strong organizational skills with experience in legal administrative tasks and case management software.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
