Position Summary, Responsibilities and Qualifications
Honigman's Insurance Recovery Group Represents Corporate Policyholders Across the Us and Internationally in All Aspects of Insurance Recovery – from Negotiating Policy Language, Analyzing and Advocating for Favorable Claim Resolution, and Litigating Coverage Disputes in Courts and Arbitration Proceedings. Our Singular Goal Is to Maximize Our Policyholder Clients' Recovery of Insurance and Reinsurance Proceeds to Which They Are Entitled. Our Insurance Recovery Attorneys Are Fellows in The American College of Coverage Counsel and Recognized by Chambers, Best Lawyers and Other Rating Groups as Top in Their Field and Provide Excellent Mentorship Opportunities to Attorneys New to The Practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with Insurance Coverage Litigation Matters Including:
  • Conduct Legal Research and Draft Pleadings, Motions, Correspondence, and Other Relevant Documents;
  • Taking a Key Role in Written Discovery and Depositions, Trial Preparation, and Trial; And
  • Participating in And Conducting Witness Interviews, Client Meetings, and Negotiations.
  • Deliver High-Quality Work-Product and Effectively Communicate at All Levels of Honigman and Its Clients;
  • Demonstrate Excellent Problem-Solving Skills and High Energy and Enthusiasm for Counseling Clients;
  • Exhibit Highly Responsive, Creative and Efficient Work Habits;
  • Strive to Continuously Improve Knowledge, Skills and Abilities and Seek Guidance and Feedback to Improve Performance and Productivity;
  • Take Responsibility for Enhancing Expertise Regarding Insurance Coverage Law, in Addition to Seeking out Formal and Informal Training;
  • Integrate Into the Practice and Build Strong Relationships with Clients and Within Honigman; And
  • Demonstrate a Long-Term Interest in Networking with Existing Clients and Developing Business Opportunities.

Qualifications:
  • 2 to 4 Years Insurance Coverage Litigation Experience;
  • Ability to Organize and Prioritize Numerous Tasks and Complete Them Under Significant Time Constraints;
  • Outstanding Interpersonal, Analytical, Organizational, and Communication (written and Verbal) Skills Required;
  • J.D. Degree from An Aba-Accredited Institution;
  • Licensed Illinois, Michigan, or D.C. Attorney in Good Standing (or with Ability to Waive Into Either Jurisdiction); And
  • Ability to Travel as Client Needs Require.
