Description:

We are seeking an experienced and business-minded In-House Attorney specializing in Corporate and Labor Law to support our growing organization and affiliated entities. This role will provide practical legal guidance on employment matters, corporate governance, compliance, contracts, labor relations, risk management, and operational matters across multiple business functions.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing legal compliance with business operations in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advise management on labor and employment law matters, including wage and hour compliance, employee relations, workplace investigations, disciplinary actions, leaves of absence, and terminations
  • Support and advise leadership on labor relations matters, including union negotiations, collective bargaining agreements, grievance handling, and labor strategy
  • Draft, review, and revise employment agreements, policies, handbooks, confidentiality agreements, collective bargaining-related documents, and corporate documents
  • Provide legal guidance on California employment laws, labor laws, and corporate compliance requirements
  • Support HR and leadership teams with legal risk assessments and operational decisions
  • Manage and oversee litigation matters, workers' compensation coordination, agency claims, and outside counsel
  • Review and negotiate commercial contracts, vendor agreements, and service agreements
  • Ensure corporate governance compliance, licensing, and regulatory filings
  • Assist with internal investigations, compliance initiatives, and policy implementation
  • Monitor legal and regulatory updates impacting company operations

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active license and good standing with the State Bar of California
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate and labor/employment law
  • Strong knowledge of California labor laws, labor relations, and employer compliance requirements
  • Experience participating in or advising on union negotiations and collective bargaining matters preferred
  • Experience advising private companies and working closely with executive leadership
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and exercise sound judgment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting healthcare, multi-site, or service-based organizations
  • Familiarity with workers' compensation, risk management, and regulatory compliance
  • In-house counsel experience preferred
