We are seeking an Immigration Associate Attorney who shares our commitment to exceptional client service, strategic advocacy, and continuous growth. Criminal defense experience is highly preferred, as many of our immigration matters require a thorough understanding of the intersection between criminal and immigration law.

This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within the United States while collaborating with a highly engaged legal team through modern technology and structured communication. This position reports directly to the Managing Attorney and is subject to annual performance evaluations based on legal performance, client service, professional development, productivity, and adherence to the firm's mission and core values.

Position Summary:
The Immigration Associate Attorney is responsible for managing an assigned immigration caseload from consultation through resolution while delivering outstanding legal representation and exceptional client service.

The attorney will work closely with the Managing Attorney and legal support staff to develop legal strategies, advocate for clients before USCIS, EOIR, ICE, and other government agencies, and represent clients in immigration court proceedings when necessary.

The ideal candidate is compassionate with clients, confident in the courtroom, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working independently while remaining highly collaborative in a remote environment. Success in this role requires excellent communication, accountability, and the ability to effectively manage deadlines without direct supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage an independent immigration caseload from intake through case completion.
Conduct legal consultations and evaluate eligibility for immigration benefits and relief.
Advise clients regarding available immigration options and the legal consequences associated with various forms of relief.
Develop case strategies tailored to each client's unique circumstances.
Prepare and review immigration applications, petitions, waivers, motions, appeals, and supporting documentation.
Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda.
Review immigration records, criminal records, and supporting evidence.
Prepare clients for USCIS interviews, immigration court hearings, and other government proceedings.
Represent clients before USCIS, EOIR, ICE, and other administrative agencies.
Collaborate virtually with legal assistants, paralegals, and attorneys to ensure timely and accurate case preparation.
Maintain accurate and timely case notes within the firm's case management system.
Communicate proactively with clients regarding case progress and expectations.
Participate in consultations with prospective clients and explain available legal services.
Stay current on changes in immigration law, regulations, and agency policies.
Participate in virtual team meetings, training, and continuing legal education.
Maintain compliance with all ethical and professional obligations.

Qualifications Required:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Active member in good standing with a State Bar.
Eligible to practice immigration, criminal and personal injury law in federal proceedings.
Minimum of 2 years of immigration law experience.
Experience handling humanitarian and family-based immigration matters.
Strong legal writing and research skills.
Excellent courtroom and client communication skills.
Ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment.
Strong technology skills and comfort using cloud-based legal software, video conferencing platforms, and case management systems.
Fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written).

Preferred:

Criminal defense experience.
Experience with removal defense and immigration court litigation.
Experience with asylum, waivers, U Visas, VAWA, SIJS, adjustment of status, and family-based petitions.
Experience conducting legal consultations and converting qualified consultations into retained clients.
