Description:
David Immigration Law is seeking an experienced U.S. immigration attorney to join our established immigration practice on a part-time basis.This is not an entry-level or training position. We are looking for an attorney with at least 5 years of substantive U.S. immigration law experience who is capable of independently reviewing matters, making sound legal decisions, communicating directly with clients, and taking genuine ownership of assigned cases.
Some in-person meetings, interviews or other appearances may be required from time to time.
The attorney will work alongside our Managing Attorney, Lead Paralegal and more junior Paralegal and will assume responsibility for an assigned portfolio of immigration matters.
Responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing filings prepared by the firm's paralegal team.
- Providing final attorney review and filing approval on assigned cases.
- Advising clients on substantive immigration issues.
- Identifying eligibility, admissibility, status and evidentiary concerns.
- Answering substantive legal questions from the paralegal team.
- Conducting client strategy calls and interview preparation where appropriate.
- Attending USCIS interviews when assigned.
- Making independent legal judgments within the firm's established procedures and escalation protocols.
- Identifying matters that require escalation to the Managing Attorney.
Candidates must have broad practical experience across both family-based and employment/business immigration.

- Family-based Adjustment of Status.
- I-130 petitions and immigrant visa processing.
- K-1 fiancé(e) visas.
- I-751 removal of conditions, including divorce waivers.
- N-400 naturalization.
- I-90 matters.
- E-2 treaty investor visas.
- E-3 specialty occupation visas.
- H-1B matters.
- L-1 intracompany transferee matters.
- O-1 extraordinary ability matters.
- P visa matters.
- B-1/B-2 visitor matters.
- Extensions and changes of nonimmigrant status, including I-539 matters.
- Employment and family-based consular processing.
- RFEs, NOIDs and other post-filing issues.
- I-601/I-601A and other waiver issues.
- Criminal history, inadmissibility, unlawful presence, misrepresentation and related immigration issues.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must:
- Hold a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
- Have 5+ years of substantive U.S. immigration law experience.
- Be admitted and in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
- Be based in Minnesota.
- Have meaningful experience in both family and employment/business immigration.
- Be able to independently review a file and make attorney-level decisions.
- Have excellent immigration issue-spotting and risk-assessment skills.
- Be comfortable taking responsibility for assigned interviews and appearances.
