Duties:
- Advise clients on immigration options, including visas, green cards, asylum, and deportation defense
- Prepare and file immigration petitions, applications, and supporting documentation accurately and efficiently
- Conduct thorough legal research to stay current on evolving immigration laws and policies
- Represent clients in hearings, interviews, and court proceedings related to immigration cases
- Collaborate with clients to gather necessary evidence and documentation for case submissions
- Negotiate with government agencies to resolve complex immigration issues favorably
- Draft legal documents, including affidavits, declarations, and legal memoranda with precision and clarity
- Maintain meticulous case files and ensure compliance with all administrative requirements in a fast-paced law office environment
Experience:
- Proven experience practicing immigration law with a strong understanding of regulations and procedures
- Demonstrated expertise in handling diverse cases such as family-based petitions, asylum claims, and deportation defense
- Strong writing skills for preparing detailed legal drafts and reports
- Prior legal administrative experience managing case files and client communications efficiently
- Ability to conduct comprehensive legal research to support case strategies
- Spanish (or other foreign language) speaking is a plus
