Position Overview:We are seeking a motivated and skilled Associate Attorney to join our practice. This is a hands-on litigation and client services role. The ideal candidate is a licensed New York attorney who is fluent in Spanish, passionate about immigration law, and comfortable appearing in immigration court.
Responsibilities:
- Appearances before the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), both in person and virtually — this is a primary and regular duty of this role
- Attend client interviews at USCIS offices throughout the NY and NJ area
- Drafting motions, briefs, and appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) and USCIS
- Conducting client consultations, intakes, and all related tasks
- Handling family-based immigration cases, waivers, removal defense
- Managing all other immigration-related legal matters as needed
Requirements:
- FLUENCY IN SPANISH IS MANDATORY — this is a non-negotiable requirement for this role
- Admitted to the New York State Bar or another U.S. state as required to practice before EOIR/BIA and USCIS
- No less than two years of Immigration law experience
- Strong writing and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to manage a caseload independently in a small firm setting
- Organized, reliable, and client-focused
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary: $90,000 – $115,000 per year, commensurate with experience
