Description:

Five Core Responsibilities:
  • Intial consultations with new clients (in person, via phone, and via zoom)
  • Litigating court cases (Immigration court and local family court)
  • Case work and research for current clients, preparing for hearings and interviews
  • Accompanying clients to immigration appointments (USCIS interviews, ICE check ins)
  • Reviewing legal assistant work for quality assurance

Other responsibilities include:
  • Collaborating with colleagues and support staff to ensure effective case management
  • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to the practice area

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the state bar association
  • Passion for immigrant and refugee communities
  • Fluency in a 2nd language (preferred)
  • 1-3 years of experience in family-based immigration law (preferred)
  • 5-10% travel outside Columbus
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in legal drafting and document preparation
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team
