Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Immigration Associate to join our dynamic legal team. The Immigration Associate will play a vital role in managing case files, conducting legal research, and communicating effectively with clients and government agencies. Duties:
- Prepare, review, and file various immigration petitions, applications, and supporting documentation with government agencies
- Conduct client interviews to gather necessary information and explain legal options clearly and compassionately
- Manage case files using legal case management systems such as iManage and PCLaw to ensure accuracy and confidentiality
- Perform legal research on immigration laws, policies, and procedural updates using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other resources
- Coordinate with clients, government officials, and internal teams to facilitate smooth case progression
- Draft legal correspondence, affidavits, and supporting documents with precision and clarity
- Maintain meticulous records of case activities, deadlines, and communications to ensure compliance with procedural law requirements
Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of immigration law procedures, policies, and regulations
- Strong experience in legal support functions including document review, legal research, and case management
- Familiarity with estate planning, environmental law, UCC law, PCLaw software, and other specialized legal areas is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently under tight deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), Westlaw, LexisNexis, iManage, Document management systems and data entry tools
- Exceptional client communication skills with the ability to interview clients effectively and handle sensitive information discreetly
- Proven experience in civil litigation support, procedural law knowledge, legal writing, proofreading and document drafting
- Strong attention to detail in handling confidential information while maintaining high standards of accuracy
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating initiative in managing responsibilities
