Description:
Primary Responsibilities:- Consult with PEO clients' business ownership and management across a multitude of industries.
- Share best practices related to the client's employee relations issues, human resources, compliance, and strategic HR.
- Ability to critically analyze, draft and explain policies, practices, and employment procedures, and anticipate and mitigate potential human resources compliance concerns.
- Strategize and work collaboratively and effectively with others including as a team member with other subject matter experts, and with other client service teams to provide best in class comprehensive HR solutions to PEO clients.
- Develop, draft, and explain policies, procedures, and practices for a variety of human resources and employment related issues.
- Assist with or conduct human resources-related investigations, including those involving discrimination and harassment
- Develop and present human resources and compliance trainings.
- Oversee and monitor EPLI matters including assisting with pre-litigation EPLI matters, negotiating settlements, attending mediation, preparing responses to agency claims/audits, and managing panel counsel.
- Monitor legal developments across the country on behalf of Engage, research and draft related communications.
- Provide legal counsel for Engage Family of Companies.
- Productively work remotely with minimal supervision.
- Complete required domestic travel.
Required Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the Florida State Bar in good standing
- Human Resources and Employment Law experience in the State of Florida
- Strong employment law research and writing skills
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication and consulting skills
- Experience handling employment-related audits and drafting agency responses
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and individually, remotely and in person
- Ability to prioritize and execute deliverables efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Adapts to innovative changes and process improvements
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least three (3) years of employment litigation experience
- Florida and multistate employment laws experience
- Experience with employment-related audits and responding to agency inquiries
- Proficiency in Spanish to effectively serve clients with varying language needs
- Professional Employer Organization (PEO) experience is a plus
