The Head of Legal for the United States will be at the forefront of advising and building strategy across a broad spectrum of legal technology issues. This pivotal role involves driving and establishing transactional and licensing work, and providing seasoned counsel in collaboration with our JP legal team to navigate the dynamic landscape of global digital media.

We are seeking a proactive, team-oriented individual with a strong background in technology law, who can independently handle a wide range of legal matters. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of analytical and problem-solving skills, with hands-on experience in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial startup/technology environment. Requirements:
Role and Responsibilities:
As the Head of Legal for A Leading Global Information & News Discovery Company in the United States, you will play a pivotal role in providing legal support and fostering collaboration across various divisions for our US business and product development matters. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Handling legal-related questions, specifically in commercial, intellectual property (IP), litigation, and employment matters.
  • Establishing company-wide policies, including privacy policies and internal policies, in collaboration with the JP legal team.
  • Advising the business and management on legal and regulatory issues pertinent to A Leading Global Information & News Discovery Company operations in the US.
  • Supporting other divisions and team members in projects from a legal standpoint.
  • Tracking and providing guidance on the impact of legal and regulatory changes in the US market.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements and documentation related to the Company's and its subsidiaries' business worldwide.
  • Instructing and collaborating with external law firms and counsel as required.

Required Experience:
  • Qualified as a US lawyer.
  • Minimum of 10 years of post-graduation experience.
  • Capable of independently handling all routine US business matters, from minor consultations to high-level inquiries.
  • Background in commercial law with experience in law firms or as an in-house counsel.
