This position offers a flexible, hybrid working arrangement.We are actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Attorney with at least five to eight years of experience to join our dynamic and high-performing litigation team. This position will focus on defending a variety of general liability claims including general tort liability/premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, and construction accident cases. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing pleadings and motions, conducting and defending depositions, and attending/handling Court Conferences. Responsibilities:
- Independently handle all phases of complex civil litigation, with an emphasis on general liability/premises liability, and auto/transportation liability. Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of these areas and develop effective, strategic solutions.
- Collaborate with attorneys, team members, and seasoned Partners on high-impact legal projects, contributing to a collaborative, results-driven environment.
- Regularly conduct/defend depositions, handle court appearances, and motion practice. Effectively prepare and examine witnesses, ensuring thorough case preparation and strong representation of clients.
- Lead all aspects of case management, including discovery, legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, and formulating strategies for trial.
- Maintain proactive communication with clients, providing clear, concise, and timely updates on case progress, while delivering strategic guidance.
- Work closely with senior attorneys to refine trial strategies and support in the preparation and presentation of complex litigation matters.
Qualifications:
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with the New York State Bar.
- At least 5 years of hands-on litigation experience, with a focus on premises liability, and general liability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong deposition experience, including witness preparation and examination, is essential.
- Proficient in legal research tools and case management software; tech-savvy with the ability to leverage technology for case efficiency and effectiveness.
A variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, other business and organizational needs, and other factors permitted by law. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances.
