Job Summary:
Jacob & Co. is seeking an experienced and business-minded General Counsel to support and protect the company's global operations across luxury watchmaking, fine jewelry, retail, and brand partnerships. This role is critical in enabling commercial growth while safeguarding the brand's legal, contractual, and reputational interests.

The ideal candidate combines strong legal expertise with a pragmatic, solutions-oriented mindset. You will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to provide clear, commercially sound legal advice in a fast-paced, international luxury environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Corporate & Commercial Law

Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of commercial agreements, including retail leases, distribution agreements, supplier contracts, NDAs, licensing, sponsorships, and partnership agreements.
Advise business teams on contractual risk, compliance, and best practices while enabling commercial objectives.
Provide legal support for global retail operations, including mono-brand and multi-brand boutiques.

Brand, IP & Licensing Protection

Protect and enforce Jacob & Co.'s intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks, designs, copyrights, and brand assets.
Review marketing, advertising, and brand collaborations to ensure legal compliance and brand integrity.
Support IP strategy in collaboration with external counsel, including filings, renewals, and enforcement actions.

Corporate Governance & Compliance

Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions (including Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the Americas).
Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to luxury retail, manufacturing, and international trade.
Support corporate governance matters, including board documentation, internal policies, and regulatory filings.

Risk Management & Dispute Resolution

Identify and assess legal risks across business activities and propose mitigation strategies.
Support crisis management and sensitive legal matters with discretion and sound judgment.
Manage disputes, claims, and litigation in coordination with external counsel.

Cross-Functional & Strategic Support

Act as a trusted legal advisor to executive leadership, sales, retail, marketing, operations, and HR teams.
Support mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic projects as needed.
Contribute to the development of scalable legal processes aligned with Jacob & Co.'s growth ambitions.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Law degree from an accredited institution; bar admission in at least one jurisdiction.
Minimum 7–10 years of experience in corporate and commercial law, ideally within luxury, retail, fashion, watchmaking, or consumer goods industries.
Strong experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
Experience working in an international, multicultural business environment.
Ability to balance legal rigor with commercial pragmatism.
Solid understanding of intellectual property, brand protection, and licensing matters.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
High level of discretion, integrity, and professionalism.
Fluency in English required; additional languages are a strong advantage.
