Job Description:Chubb's New York City New York House Counsel firm, Yapchanyk, Prezioso & Yang, is seeking an experienced and skilled New York litigator and manager for the position of Supervisory Attorney for its casualty practice. The Supervising attorney will oversee a staff of 10 casualty attorneys who handle the firm's high exposure and complex litigated matters throughout the New York's City, State, and Federal venues. The attorney will also be expected to maintain a reduced caseload of their own. The Supervising Attorney will report to the firm's Managing Attorney.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must be an attorney licensed to practice before New York's State and Federal Courts, and that license should not have been lapsed or been suspended. 10+ years of demonstrated success in litigating at trial and on appeal a wide range of New York tort matters is required. The candidate should possess the professional stature and business acumen needed to be a productive member of the firm, and have a documented history of significant interaction with clients and claims adjusters.
The successful candidate should also possess:
- Deep knowledge of New York State and Federal Court procedural law, pleading, discovery, motion practice and pretrial techniques and strategies
- Advanced oral and written advocacy skills, with a demonstrated track record of summary judgment and/or appellate success
- Cutting edge knowledge of the substantive law applicable to New York casualty defense litigation.
- Advanced analytical skills needed to address complex legal issues.
- Technological savvy and the ability to learn and adapt to new computer systems and thrive in a digital environment
- Prior history as a direct mentor, teacher, CLE instructor, or manager
- Knowledge of relevant AI technologies and their application to the legal environment.
- Proficiency in effectively and strategically communicating with clients, Claim Department customers, and law firm colleagues regarding litigated matters.
- Demonstrated, deeply-ingrained enthusiasm and skills necessary to provide excellent customer service to clients, claim examiners, internal customers within firm
- Commitment to team building
- Ability and willingness to work effectively with others at all levels and to step outside a defined role where required to advance the firm's business
- Excellent time management, organization, and attention to detail
- Aptitude for, and history of, trying cases to a jury, with demonstrated successful trial experience preferred.
The pay range for the role is $204,000 to $346,800. The specific offer will depend on an applicant's skills and other factors.
