As General Counsel, Commercial for Honeywell UOP within Honeywell Process Technologies, you will serve as a senior legal partner to the business, with primary responsibility for complex commercial matters and related risk management. Your expertise in contract negotiation, dispute management, compliance, and practical business counseling will help protect our interests and support our continued success.

You will report directly to the Vice President & General Counsel for UOP and partner closely with Process Technologies and UOP business leaders and functional teams. You'll work out of one of our Honeywell hub locations on a hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will provide practical, business-oriented legal advice on commercial arrangements, compliance, disputes, strategic initiatives, and other matters, helping UOP operate ethically, legally, and with integrity, allowing the company to continue its mission of creating innovative solutions that improve the quality of life for people worldwide.

Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic, practical legal advice and guidance to UOP business leaders and functional teams
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including technology licensing, engineering, services, confidentiality, and collaboration agreements
  • Partner with sales, finance, engineering, technology, and other functions on commercial strategy, contract interpretation, claims, disputes, and risk allocation
  • Develop and implement legal strategies to protect the company's interests and mitigate commercial and operational risks
  • Support compliance matters, investigations, training, and remediation in coordination with the Vice President & General Counsel for UOP and compliance teams
  • Support strategic transactions and other legal matters as assigned
  • Support special projects and legal department initiatives, including driving continuous improvement in contracting practices, legal processes, tools, and workflows to enhance efficiency, consistency, and business support
  • Manage selected disputes and outside counsel, as needed

Qualifications:
You must have:
  • 8+ years of experience practicing law
  • Significant experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements and managing related risk
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and experience providing practical, business-oriented legal advice
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing
