What We Need:As an Assistant General Counsel – Procurement for Brady Intelligent Productivity Solutions (IPS), you will play a crucial role in providing strategic legal advice and support specifically focused on procurement activities. You will be instrumental in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and agreements related to procurement, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies, and managing legal risks associated with procurement operations.
You will report directly to our General Counsel – IPS and you'll work out of our U.S. location in Charlotte, NC on a hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will impact Brady's procurement processes by ensuring legal compliance, mitigating risks, and facilitating smooth contract negotiations that support business objectives and operational efficiency.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Review, draft, and negotiate procurement contracts, supplier agreements, and related legal documents to protect Brady's interests.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies in all procurement-related contractual matters.
- Collaborate with procurement teams and cross-functional stakeholders to identify and mitigate legal risks.
- Provide legal advice and guidance on contract interpretation, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance in procurement and other business activities.
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting procurement and supply chain operations.
- Handle commercial contracting matters, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating customer, vendor, channel, licensing, services, technology, and other business agreements.
- Support government contracting matters, including federal, state, and local procurement requirements, flow-down obligations, subcontracting, bid and proposal support, and compliance with applicable government contract terms.
- Advise on regulatory compliance matters affecting procurement, commercial operations, government sales, supply chain, product distribution, and related business activities.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree, with 8+ years of experience managing and negotiating procurement contracts and agreements.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, commercial terms, and procurement regulations.
- Expertise in drafting and negotiating complex procurement contracts to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
- Experience supporting procurement or supply chain legal matters in a corporate environment.
- Familiarity with relevant procurement laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Proactive approach to identifying legal risks and providing practical solutions.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
