You'll assist individuals in a variety of situations, such as navigating prenuptial agreements and attending court hearings for divorce, alimony/spousal support, and child support. The prime candidate will have experience with a range of sensitive legal issues, such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence, and be able to maintain composure, negotiate, and argue effectively even in emotional and high-stress situations. Responsibilities:
What You'll Do:
  • Represent clients in family law hearings, mediations, and trials
  • Draft motions, pleadings, settlement agreements, and final orders
  • Guide clients through complex legal and emotional situations
  • Collaborate with paralegals and senior attorneys on case strategy
  • Oversee case files, track progress, and manage deadlines
  • Communicate regularly with clients and opposing counsel
  • Occasional travel required across WV and OH
  • Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation and forming a strategy for a plan of action
  • Keep client files properly organized and up to date
  • Prepare legal documents such as legal pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases
  • Communicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process
  • Divide marital assets, including real estate, when necessary during divorce proceedings

Qualifications:
What You Need:
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Ohio
  • Prior experience with Family Law is preferred
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent courtroom presence and legal writing skills
  • Strong communication and client relationship abilities
  • Confidence under pressure and compassion for people in crisis
  • Willingness to work independently and as part of a team
  • At least 1-2 years of working in a law firm on family law issues as well as real estate (determining marital property) is necessary
  • Ability to successfully represent both plaintiff and defendant sides of a case
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, especially in highly stressful and emotional situations

Compensation:
$100,000 - $120,000 yearly + benefits
