Our law firm is seeking a family attorney who can assist clients in navigating the sensitive legal issues of family law, including child custody, child abuse, and domestic violence. Compensation: $150,000 - $200,000 + Incentive Compensation - Flexible

Responsibilities:
  • Represent clients in family law court proceedings, as needed
  • Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs, analyzing the situation, and then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action
  • Divide marital assets, including real estate, when necessary during divorce proceedings
  • Work closely with paralegals and legal assistants to support clients through their legal process
  • Organize and maintain client files to ensure they are kept current
  • Create legal documents such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgements and orders for a high volume of cases
  • Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation and forming a strategy for a plan of action
  • Manage the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings when needed
  • Communicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process

Qualifications:
  • Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations
  • Ability to successfully represent both plaintiff and defendant sides of a case
  • A bachelor's degree with a legal background and a J.D. degree are required
  • Licensed to practice law in New Jersey
  • Member in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association)
  • Previous criminal justice or other legal background preferred
  • At least 1-2 years of working in a law firm on family law issues as well as real estate (determining marital property) is necessary
  • 4-year degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are necessary for this position
  • Candidates should be great negotiators and communicators, specifically in situations when emotions and stress are high

Compensation:
$150,000 - $200,000 yearly
