Description:

Sobel Han, LLP is a general practice law firm handling real estate law, commercial litigation, and business law and disputes. We're looking for an associate attorney (1–3 years' experience) ready to take real ownership of matters from day one.
NJ Bar required*

Why Sobel Han
At many law firms, junior associates spend years doing document review before they see a courtroom or deal with partners that have no time for associates. Here, you'll be in Special Civil Part and municipal court running matters yourself within your first months — drafting pleadings, arguing motions, and conducting trials (DC & LT) with the backing of partners and senior attorneys who have an open-door policy. If you want to build advocacy skills fast, this is the place to do it.

We're also invested in your growth beyond the courtroom. Partners actively bring associates into client relationships — seminars, dinners, and networking events — because we want you building your own book of business, not just working someone else's files.

What you'll be doing from the start:
  • Representing landlords through all phases of non-payment and "for cause" holdover evictions
  • Handling Special Civil Part matters end-to-end — pleadings, discovery, and trial
  • Representing clients in summary dispossess proceedings
  • Appearing in municipal court

Where you'll grow:

  • Legal research and analysis supporting senior attorneys in Law Division and Federal Court matters
  • Drafting motions, briefs, and litigation documents across a broader practice
  • Direct client relationship management — including the mentorship and access to help you develop your own clients
  • Courtroom experience across hearings, trials, and depositions

What We're Looking For:
  • A people person who thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of landlord-tenant law and court rules/motion practice
  • A bonus (not required): background in real estate transactions or condominium law
